David Cook has recorded a version of Simple Minds 1985 hit Don't You (Forget About Me) that will be used as this season's American Idol farewell song. David's cover will make its debut on tonight's show announcing the Season 10 finalists.
Don't You (Forget About Me) will be available for free, starting today, for people who pre-order David's forthcoming album through his official website. It will also be available for sale at iTunes and other digital retailers beginning March 8.
David, who won Idol's seventh season, will release his next album, produced by Matt Serletic, later this year.
